Data sources and limits
Where Unitley's odds, schedule, injuries, stats, live status and weather come from, how often each updates, and how bets settle.
Unitley's background jobs keep every number in a shared cache, and the console and the tools read from it. What you see is only as new as the last update. NFL is the only sport today.

A failed check is tried again after at most 15 minutes.
Odds
Every price comes from The Odds API, Unitley's only odds source. Unitley tracks eight US books and shows FanDuel's line. See Best price across books.
Main lines are fetched about 90 minutes before each kickoff window, on Tuesday at 10:00 ET for the opening lines, and on Saturday at 10:00 ET after Friday's injury reports. The Saturday fetch is skipped when a kickoff window already brings one that Saturday, as late in the season. Kickoffs within 90 minutes of a window's first kickoff share that window, so a typical Sunday has three. Each fetch covers every unstarted game in the next 8 days.
Player props are fetched on request. The first request for a game's props in the 24 hours before kickoff fetches them, and a request in the last 3 hours can refresh them once. Every user shares the result.
The Odds API allows a limited number of requests a month. As the month's use climbs, Unitley drops the Tuesday and Saturday fetches and the props refresh first, then props, then every fetch until the quota resets. You then see the last prices on file, each with its age, and get_player_props says in its note why props weren't refreshed.
There are no in-game prices: a game's prices stop updating at kickoff. Prices move between fetches, so check each price's age (see How old a price is) and check the price at your own book before you bet.
Schedule and scores
nflverse's schedule lists every game of this season and next, with kickoff, venue and final score. It has no live scores. Once both scores are posted, a game counts as final 4 hours after kickoff. get_week_slate takes a date range, from and to.
Live status
Unitley is not a live scoreboard. During a game, the status and score come from BALLDONTLIE, and the console and the tools show them while nflverse is behind. BALLDONTLIE also checks each final score before bets settle.
Injuries
The injury report is nflverse's copy of the official report, merged with the roster reserve lists. nflverse updates it about twice a day, so it can lag the news. It does not cover game-day inactives, announced about 90 minutes before kickoff. Check them before you bet.
Stats
Season stats are nflverse's weekly files, summed into season totals. nflverse updates them about once a day. A new season's stats appear after its first NFL week.
Weather
Forecasts cover games in the next 7 days at open-air and retractable-roof stadiums. US stadiums use the National Weather Service, with MET Norway when the NWS is unavailable. Games abroad use MET Norway. Indoor stadiums are skipped.
How bets settle
Every 5 minutes, Unitley grades open moneyline, spread and total bets on finished games. A bet qualifies when it is tied to a game Unitley tracks and has its side, plus its point for a spread or total.
- nflverse marks the game final.
- BALLDONTLIE shows the same final score. Without it, Unitley waits until 24 hours after kickoff and grades on the schedule's score. If the two disagree, the bet is held until 3 days after kickoff, and then the schedule decides.
- The bet is graded won, lost or push. A spread or total landing exactly on the line is a push, and so is a tied two-way moneyline.
The Bet Log marks these bets "auto". A bet you settle or edit first keeps what you set, and a game that kicked off more than 30 days ago is left to you.
Props, parlays and bets not tied to a game stay open until you settle them. The schedule has no canceled flag, so settle bets on a called-off game as Void yourself. Settle on the Bet Log, or ask an agent with a write token to use settle_bet. The web analyst can't settle bets.
