Web analyst
Chat with Unitley in the console on your own Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter API key. How keys, models, costs, tools and limits work.
The web analyst is a chat on the Analyst page. It answers from Unitley's own data and tools, and runs on an API key you save. One key is enough, and nothing needs installing.
Add a key
Get an API key
Create one with your provider: Anthropic (opens in a new tab), OpenAI (opens in a new tab) or OpenRouter (opens in a new tab).
Save it in Settings
Open Settings → AI providers, paste the key into that provider's card and choose Test and save.
Ask
Open the Analyst page, pick a provider and a model, and ask about a game, a price or a bet.
Test and save checks that the provider accepts your key. It spends nothing, so it may not catch an account that is out of credit. A key the provider rejects isn't saved. If the check can't finish, the key is saved as Not verified. A working key shows Connected, and a refused one Key rejected. You can test a saved key again with Test connection, or delete it with Remove.
Who pays
Your provider bills your key for every answer, including each round of tool calls the analyst makes. API usage is billed separately from a Claude or ChatGPT subscription. Each answer ends with the tokens it used, and its cost when the provider reports one.
Check current prices with your provider: Anthropic pricing (opens in a new tab), OpenAI pricing (opens in a new tab), or OpenRouter's prices in the model picker.
If you already have a Claude plan, you can run Unitley in Claude instead, with no API key.
Models
- Anthropic and OpenAI. A short list of models, each with a one-line note and its list price per million tokens. The default is first. A few carry a note when long prompts cost more.
- OpenRouter. OpenRouter's own catalog of models that can call tools, refreshed about once a day. Free models come first, marked Free, then the rest from cheapest. Search by name or id. Prices are what OpenRouter charges your key, as of the time shown. OpenRouter sets its own usage limits on free models, and paid ones need credit there.
If OpenRouter's list can't load, the picker offers a few models that usually work and a Retry button. Unitley remembers the model you chose in this browser.
What it can do
The analyst uses the same tools as Claude and other agents: the slate, odds, line movement, props, team and player stats, injuries, weather, the betting math, your bankroll and bet log, and the knowledge notes. Tools marked "Not in the web analyst" in the tool reference aren't offered here.
- It saves a pick (
save_recommendation) or logs a bet (log_bet) only when you ask. A saved pick shows as a card in the chat and on the Picks page. - It can't settle a bet. You settle bets by hand on the Bet Log.
- It has no web research. Answers use Unitley's data only, so news and late changes may be missing.
- With a Jev key saved, it can use Jev on text you paste, when you give the URL it came from.
- It never places bets. Unitley isn't a sportsbook.
Limits
- Tool rounds. Each answer gets a limited number of tool rounds, and a limited number of calls per round. When it hits one, you see "Some tool calls were skipped (limit reached)." or a note that it stopped after its limit of tool rounds. Ask it to carry on.
- Tool calls. The analyst's calls count against your account's budget, 120 a minute, shared with every access token. See Rate limits.
- Questions. Ask a lot in a short time and Unitley tells you how long to wait. If too many of your answers are still running, in other tabs for example, it asks you to wait for one to finish or stop it, then ask again.
- Chat length. A chat too long for the model ends with "This chat is longer than the model can read. Start a new chat."
- Nothing is saved. The chat is gone when you reload or leave the page. Saved picks stay on the Picks page.
When a key is rejected
If your provider rejects the key during a chat, Unitley marks it Key rejected and the answer says to replace it, with an Open Settings button. If no other saved key works, the Analyst page then shows "Your API key was rejected" until you replace it or add another provider's key.
Other failures say what to do:
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Your account is out of credit or over its limit | Add credit with the provider. On OpenRouter, free models are listed first in the picker. |
| The provider is rate limiting your key | Wait the time shown, then ask again. |
| The provider can't run this model right now, or it doesn't support tools | Pick another model. |
| The provider refused this request | Check your key's permissions, or rephrase the question. |
| Your session ended | Sign in again. |
Your key
Unitley encrypts your key with AES-256-GCM before it's stored, bound to your account and that provider. It's decrypted only on Unitley's server, to call your provider for you, and never logged. Only its last four characters are ever shown. Unitley records which tools the analyst ran, never their arguments or results, and doesn't save the conversation.
