Hermes Agent
Connect Nous Research's Hermes Agent to Unitley with an access token in .env and one server entry in config.yaml, then test and reload.
Hermes Agent connects to Unitley directly over HTTP. You keep the token in Hermes's .env file and point config.yaml at it, so the token never sits in the config itself.
Set it up
Create a token
Open the Connect page and create a token for Hermes. Tick Let it log bets, settle them and save picks only if you want Hermes to use log_bet, settle_bet and save_recommendation. Unitley shows the token only once, and the Connect page fills it into the setup below while the page is open.
Save the token in .env
Add this line to
~/.hermes/.env, with your token in place of the placeholder:~/.hermes/.env UNITLEY_TOKEN=YOUR_UNITLEY_TOKENAdd the server to config.yaml
Add this to
~/.hermes/config.yaml. If the file already has anmcp_serverssection, add only theunitleyentry under it.~/.hermes/config.yaml mcp_servers: unitley: url: "https://console.unitley.com/api/mcp" headers: Authorization: "Bearer ${UNITLEY_TOKEN}"Hermes replaces
${UNITLEY_TOKEN}with the value from your environment when it connects. You can also runhermes mcp add unitley --url https://console.unitley.com/api/mcp --auth headerand paste the token when asked; Hermes saves it in.envasMCP_UNITLEY_API_KEY. The steps here use your own variable name,UNITLEY_TOKEN, instead.Test the connection
Run in a terminal hermes mcp test unitleyThis reports what Unitley answered. A 401 means the token was refused: check that
.envholds the whole token and that it has not expired or been revoked.Reload a running session
If Hermes is already running, type
/reload-mcpin the session. Hermes reloads its MCP servers from the config and refreshes the tool list.
Tool names in Hermes
Hermes prefixes every MCP tool with the server's name so it cannot collide with its own tools. Unitley's tools show up as mcp_unitley_ followed by the tool name, for example mcp_unitley_get_game_odds. The tool reference uses the names without the prefix.
Replace the token
- Create a new token on the Connect page.
- Put it in place of the old one in
~/.hermes/.env. - Run
hermes mcp test unitley, then/reload-mcpin any running session. - Revoke the old token on the Connect page.
Remove it
Delete the unitley entry from config.yaml and the UNITLEY_TOKEN line from .env. Then revoke the token on the Connect page.
